Huntly Juniors Cricket Club

HJCC is a vital part of the long-established Huntly Cricket Club (est. 1854). We are passionate about sharing the joy of cricket with children and seeing them grow in their abilities through regular training and inter-club matches.

Cricket is a sport that offers physical challenges as well as mental agility and quick thinking. The idea of people standing around in a field for hours at a time is soon dispelled as every player will learn they have a vital role to play for the entire game.

HJCC is a fully inclusive organisation with opportunities for both sexes and all ages. We offer comprehensive training that aims to develop a child’s skills from beginners’ level right through to being confident in playing hardball cricket matches.

Over the years, HJCC has proven to be a successful club with players moving on to represent senior teams at local, regional and international levels.

The club is overseen by a voluntary committee and hire a freelance Head Coach, Neil Nicol, who oversees all training, development and match organisation.

Training sessions are arranged by age and ability, from the age of 6 upwards. The training sessions are split into blocks that fall in line with the school terms and are run in afternoon and evening sessions. Most junior matches take place during the week and occasionally weekends.
