Cyclists Prepare To Ride Into Huntly

By Experience Huntly on 22/08/2023

Ride the North, an annual cycling event, which takes participants through the beautiful landscape of the north east of Scotland, will start and finish in huntly on Saturday 26th August 2023.

The event consists of two routes - 100 miles and 64 miles - across hills and through the back roads of the region, in the foothills of the Cairngorms.  The ride is supported, with mechanical support, support vehicles, signposting, lunches, mobile coffee stops, refreshments, luggage transfer and of course all the encouragement you will need to complete the course in your own time.

Ride the North is a non competitive event.  Open to cyclists of all abilities, the route takes riders through the north east's towns and villages, where they will be welcomed by locals and festival celebrations held to mark the event.

Many cyclists take on the challenge to raise funds for local charities and causes close to their hearts. Since 2011 Ride the North and participant cyclists have raised around £2.1m for local charities.

This year, the event starts and finishes in Huntly, bringing up to 2000 cyclists and supporters to the town.  Local businesses are gearing up for a busy day as they prepare to welcome the crowds.
