Fiver Fest Returns 8 - 22 October

From 8 to 22 October, over 100 towns and thousands of businesses across the UK are joining together to bring customers very special £5 offers, to highlight the contribution to the economy that local shops and businesses bring. It is also an opportunity for those businesses to say “thank you” to their loyal customers who have supported them through the pandemic. Businesses in Huntly are signed up and ready to take part with a range of offers available.

Vivien Rae, Marketing Manager for Experience Huntly, has been coordinating the town’s efforts.  She commented, “This is now the fourth Fiver Fest event Huntly has taken part in, and again we have a good number of businesses in the town eager to take part.  Christmas is now on the horizon, so this is a great opportunity for consumers to start shopping and supporting local small independent businesses."

Fiver Fest is a free to join campaign, devised and run by Totally Locally, a grass roots high street organisation that has been helping businesses and high streets to help themselves since 2010 with incredible results.

Helen Kings, treasurer for Huntly Business Association, added, “If every adult in Huntly spent just £5 per week in their local independent shops and businesses, it would put money directly into our local economy, leading to more jobs, a better high street, a stronger economy and a nicer place to live.  Fiver Fest shows that a small change in your spending habits can really make a difference to the businesses in our town. By diverting just £5 of our weekly spend to local independent businesses, we give them a fighting chance to thrive and to keep our high street alive.  Fiver Fest makes that easy, and it’s fun!”
