The Hairst is a unique annual harvest festival which takes place in Huntly. This family event, established in 2002, celebrates the food and traditions of Aberdeenshire.

Taking place in Huntly from 9am - 4pm on Saturday 3 September, the Hairst brings together a varied programme of activities.  Enjoy an extended farmers market, street food, craft fair, children's activities including a farm themed afternoon tea party, cook offs, bake offs and World Stovies Championships.  The Huntly Room To Run event will also take place, with 5K, 10K and half marathon routes through the town. 

On Sunday 4 September, the Big Picnic at nearby Leith Hall Estate & Gardens offers an opportunity to relax in lush surroundings, enjoy a craft fair, farmers market, and a chance to meet rare breeds of North East Scotland.  This year the Tour of Britain cycle race will also pass by Leith Hall on day 1 of the first stage of the race, take the opportunity to cheer on the contestants.
