Local Businesses Encouraged To Sign up To Fiver Fest Campaign

Businesses in Huntly and the surrounding area are being invited to take part in a forthcoming campaign to encourage local spend.

Totally Locally’s Fiver Fest, a national initiative which encourages independent businesses to promote £5 offers over a two-week duration, will return from 12 – 26 June.

Fiver Fest presents a great opportunity for businesses to entice new and returning customers across the threshold, and offers local shoppers a chance to find a bargain or two and visit some unexplored local businesses.

Independent businesses in Huntly and across the AB54 area are encouraged to take part in the free to join campaign, by offering a £5 deal and promoting it to customers in their business locations and across their social media channels.

Experience Huntly's Marketing Manager, Vivien Rae, commented, “Local businesses are invited to be imaginative and varied with their offers, examples can include £5 locally sourced meat packs to £5 massages, £5 best-selling book offers to £5 lunch deals. If every adult in the Huntly area spent just £5 per week in our local independent shops and businesses, it would mean a significant spend going directly into our local economy. This can lead to more jobs, a better high street, a stronger economy and ultimately make the area a nicer place to live.”
