On behalf of West Coast Estates (WCE) and Dean’s of Huntly, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our proposal for a new roadside development called Linnorie, which would encompass a food hub and a super-fast electric car charging station just off the A96 near Huntly.

Linnorie will feature a Starbucks, McDonalds restaurant and a Fastned facility, which would be the Dutch firm’s third super-fast electric car charging station location in Scotland.

The Fastned facility will have 8 ultra-rapid charging points powered by renewable energy, capable of adding up to 180 miles of range in just 15 minutes. Given Huntly’s strategic position on the A96 and the greater use of electric vehicles across the country, we believe it’s an ideal location for such a facility.

In addition to the £5million invest, the proposals will create 100 new jobs, with further employment created during the construction phase. We are also fully committed to making a positive community impact and would employ exclusively northeast construction contractors. When complete, Linnorie would also contribute over £100,000 per year in business rates, which will support local services.

The website will be live from Friday 18th November 2022, with comments due back no later than Friday 2nd December 2022.
